The main purpose of the construction laboratory of concrete is to conduct research for the development of a higher quality, durable, cost-effective and sustainable concrete mixture by:
- study of the characteristics of materials for concrete mixes used for industrial and civil construction, including cement, aggregates, additional and alternative binders and additives.
- assessment and improvement of durability aspects of concrete.
- development and evaluation of new testing methods or improvement of existing testing procedures.
The concrete laboratory conducts research in many areas related to concrete materials, such as concrete strength, compliance with the declared brand and type of concrete mixture, technical and physical characteristics of concrete paving slabs.
